Art Therapy Activities to Promote Cognitive Development
Art therapy has been proven to boost brain function in people who experience dementia. Activities to promote cognitive development and stimulation are an important focus of the Hummingbird Project, even for those suffering from dementia.
Due to social distancing, an Activity Specialist with the Hummingbird Project worked with Catherine’s memory unit to introduce festive activities that promote purpose, camaraderie, and stimulation for better cognitive functioning. Afterward, Catherine met her Activity Specialist virtually to share the pumpkin she created! Fun, friendship, and Fall!
