Traumatic Brain Injury: Addressing Intellectual Stimulation
Welcome to week 5 of our 10-week in-depth look at the Hummingbird Project’s Virtual Activity program!
TBI, Isolation, and the Loss of Skills
A client who has experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI) faces the challenge of managing anxiety while being isolated. This adds to the frustration of not being able to maneuver technology as once before. Working with the facility in which he resides, our Hummingbird Activity Specialist provides daily assignments to encourage focused activity and to provide direction throughout long days. Offering continuous intellectual stimulation provides him with the structure he needs during this time of seclusion.
