The Art of Aging Gracefuly
The Eleventh Annual Art of Aging Gracefully Resource Fair was held this past Wednesday April 11th, by the JCCSF, and The Hummingbird Project was honored to present our program to over 500 participants at the event.
We brought something new for event participants to engage in together. Crochet is one creative experience our activity specialists enjoy with clients. Many participants joined in on the fun! A group of women even taught us a new stitch! Collaboration and learning something new is Meredith’s, lead activity specialist, favorite part of her job.
We met a fantastic woman at the event who shared being grateful for sky diving a week before her 80th birthday!!
Our Joyful Moments tree was filled with great moments and inspiration. Sometimes a simple open-ended question can stir up wonderful memories. One woman shared about her grandmother making her snacks in the afternoon after school. As she shared her eyes teared and she shared a big smile.
