During our group art presentation, “Art Reflections”, images like Gustave Caillabotte’s “Sunflowers” touched many residents personally. Michael explained the technique used to help attract bees to cornfields by growing sunflowers around them. Michael and Jonnie carried on about this topic after the session was finished. She told him about how “hundreds” of sunflowers would “invade” her yard every year. “I got so tired of them!”
The connection carried on after the paintings were no longer in front of them, strengthening their sense of community and belonging.
