Grab your activity partner and go out in nature for a leaf collecting walk. During the walk, observe what you see and all the beautiful colors while gathering the leaves. Socialize with your partner about the kinds of leaves, shapes, smells and if the leaf is unique for the area. Once you have collected your leaves, gather the following supplies: 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper, crayons or pastels, colored construction paper and scissors. Then setup for your activity in a nice shady outdoor area (not mandatory).
Before beginning your activity, feel each leaf, how are they different? Spend a few minutes reminding and then proceed by arranging the leaves on a flat area, place a thin piece of paper over them and color over each leaf with the crayons or pastels. Once the leaves have been colored over, cut them out and glue them on the construction paper. This activity creates a wonderful excuse to go on a nature walk, observe the beauty of nature and then put your creative talents to the test by making your own piece of art!
